Cinnamon Twist

Bake at 400 Degrees


Make the Naturally Leavened Bread recipe and add:

1/2 Cup Sucanat or more Honey

1 Tbs Cinnamon

Maple Frosting

1 - 8oz package Cream Cheese

1 Cup Sucanat

2 Tbs Real Maple Syrup

a Sprinkle of Salt

2 Tbs Butter


Let sit for 8-12 hours then shape into bread sticks.  Cut the dough into two and place in two cookie sheets lined with parchment paper.  Roll the dough flat into the entire cookie sheet including the corners.

Spread dough with butter.  Sprinkle with Cinnamon generously, then sprinkle with Sucanat. (optional, spread with Real Maple Syrup)

Cut down the middle lengthwise with a pizza cutter.  Then cut across in 1" strips.  Hold the middle edge of the strip and give it a twist in the middle.

Bake at 400° for 8-10 min.  I like 8 min in my convection oven.  Try to keep it just under 180° internal temp when done.  Cool slightly.

Frost with Maple Frosting.

Maple Frosting

1 - 8oz package Cream Cheese

1 Cup Sucanat

2 Tbs Real Maple Syrup

a Sprinkle of Salt

2 Tbs Butter

Beat with a mixer until fluffy and smooth, spread over warm but not hot twists.
