aunt judy’s french bread


1 pkg yeast

1½ c warm water              

1 T sugar                          

1½ tsp salt                        

1 T oil                               

4 c flour


  1. Double to make 3 loaves

  2. Raise once, shape in loaves, raise very light.

  3. Bake 400` 25 minutes with pan of water on bottom for crust

  4. optional: Egg shine before baking.
