Aunt Donna Painter’s Filled Cookies

Quantity:

Bake at 350 Degrees


Cookie:

3 Cup Flour

1 Cup Butter

1 Cup Sugar

1 Tbsp Baking Powder

1 Egg

3/4 Cup Milk

1 tsp Vanilla

Dash of Salt


Cookie:

  1. Cut Together the flour, butter, sugar, & Baking Powder

  2. Mix and add the rest of the ingredients.

  3. Don’t over mix. Chill at least an hour. Roll very thin, cut in 2 inch rounds. Fill with cooled filling. Bake at 350 degrees till just barely set and slightly golden.

Date Filling:

  1. Cook thick, stir constantly

Raisin Filling:

  1. Mix together the sugar and flour.

  2. Add raisins, water, lemon juice. Boil for 3 minutes

  3. Add nuts when the mix is cooled

Cherry Filling:

  1. Mix all together, may add red food coloring.

  2. Boil til the filling starts to thicken then add cherries.boil till thickened.

  3. You may use quickgel to help thicken.

Date Filling:

2 Cup Dates

3/4 Cup Sugar

3/4vCup Water

1/4 tsp Salt

2 Tbsp Lemon Juice

1 Cup Nuts (opt)

Raisin Filling:

1 Cup Sugar

2 Tbsp Flour

1 Cup Raisins

1 Cup Boiling Water

2 Tbso Lemon Juice

1 Cup NUts (Opt)

Cherry Filling:

1 1/4 Cup Sugar

5 Tbsp Cornstarch

1/2 Cup Cherry Juice

Pinch of Salt

1 qt Pie Cherries, Drained
