My husband loves egg nog but the stuff you buy at the grocery store is horrible for you. I came up with this recipe and he really likes it. It is great as a drink or if you like you can put it in your ice cream freezer and make a great dessert.3 eggs 3 c raw whole milk 1 c raw cream If I’m making ice cream I switch it to 3 c cream and 1 c milk. 1 Tbls real vanilla 1 tsp Cinnamon Plus Blend from Pampered Chef. Sorry for this, I know most people won’t have this but it worked well for egg nog. The ingredients in order are cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, orange peel, cloves and ginger. If you don’t have it all try cinnamon, nutmeg (a must for nog) and allspice. Fresh nutmeg – quite a bit I grated right in and didn’t measure, maybe 1/4 tsp. Sprinkle of Mace. Again I didn’t measure but I found that it did need it. 1/4 c real maple syrup 1/4 c Agave This is the measurement I used for ice cream, maybe a little less for the drink. Cook it all over med heat until right before it boils and the eggs will thicken the mixture. Cool to the temperature you want to drink it or till cold for ice cream.
