Yes, we eat desserts.  But once a week is enough maybe even too much.  But with 10 people in the family if all we do is eat a dessert on Birthdays and Holidays we’re eating it 2-3 times a month!  Actually, the best way we found to control dessert intake to look ahead at the month and see when your special days are and plan when your desserts will happen.  We are bombarded with sugar every single day in the world we live in.  If you have planned ahead and know you get to eat what you really want to eat then you can confidently pass by the more ordinary store bought cookie at scouts and the M&M’s at your mommy daughter play date.  It’s great training for your kids too.  They get offered sugar more than any other food group!
